ShamRockk Programme II: The Green Room

COMING SOON - 2027

ShamRockk's Green Room is a free, on-demand academy that teaches dancers the life and career skills pre-professional training leaves out — contracts, life skills, budgeting, self-marketing, and resilience — so they're ready for the business side and the lifestyle of a dance career, not just the stage. Delivered through a self-paced, earned Professional Readiness Credential® across six units, it's built on research showing most dance professionals piece together careers with little formal preparation for that reality.

Green Room is a program of the ShamRockk Foundation, keeping the core curriculum free forever for every dancer who needs it.

Mission

The Green Room is the school ballet never gave you. Through an on-demand Professional Readiness Credential — six core courses plus electives — we teach every dancer, from ballet school through the first years of company life, the life and business skills that almost none of them are formally or consistently taught.

Vision

We envision a professional dance world where "nobody teaches you this" and "you'll just figure it out somehow" are no longer true for anyone — where every dancer steps into a company already equipped to manage their own career, and where the Professional Readiness Credential is recognized by schools and companies alike as proof a dancer is ready for what's next.

What Green Room Offers

ShamRockk's Green Room is a free, on-demand curriculum built to prepare dancers for the career behind the career — the parts of professional and adult life that pre-professional training doesn't cover.

Every class is structured in a creative multi-engagement format so that learning is easy and comfortable for all learning styles ... even for those dancers who "hate school".

Every dancer works through six core units, earning a Professional Readiness Credential (PRC) along the way:

Unit 1: Auditioning and The Professional Contract — audition strategy, contract literacy, and term negotiation
Unit 2: Money & Adulting — budgeting, taxes, and independent living
Unit 3: Mind and Body — sustaining your body and mind for the long haul
Unit 4: Company Life and Culture — professional conduct and navigating company life
Unit 5: Mindfulness & Identity — career navigation and a strong sense of self
Unit 6: You Are a Business — being a good "company employee", self-marketing, portfolio building, and running your own career

Dancers who want to go further can explore our elective library, including options like: the college path to professional dance, men's wellness, women's wellness, dance-adjacent careers, side hustles/ gig work, choreography fundamentals, other dance discipline careers, dancer retirement planning, and more!

Once you earn your PRC, you retain lifetime free membership to the Green Room so that you can always come back for new and updated topics and classes!

Parents! We will also have content designed to keep YOU "in the know" as you support your dancer through this process.

You're never doing it alone. Every dancer in Green Room has:

A companion workbook for each unit, free as a downloadable PDF or available as a printed, bound keepsake
Faculty review of your work, unit by unit
A PRC Coordinator supporting you through every step of the credential
Mentors to turn to for deeper, one-on-one guidance
Monthly cohort sessions and bi-weekly open office hours to connect live
A community of fellow dancers walking the same path

The core curriculum is free — forever. No unit, worksheet, or credential is ever paywalled.
